Overview

The district has adopted the lockout/blockout procedure to prevent injury or death to employees by requiring that certain precautions are taken before servicing or repairing equipment.

This program applies to all district departments whose employees service or maintain equipment and machines that could unexpectedly start or work in areas where the possibility of the release of stored energy could cause injury to employees. This includes authorized employees who perform repair, servicing and maintenance operation, and affected employees who work near or with the equipment to be lockout.
