New Faculty Welcome and Reception

Overview

Los Rios Human Resources, District Academic Senate, and Los Rios College Federation of Teachers (LRCFT) co-host the annual, district-level orientation and training event for all new tenure-track faculty.

Participants meet key administrators and campus colleagues and receive valuable information, contacts, and resources that they can use as they begin their tenure as full-time faculty members.

Special highlights include a question and answer session with a diverse student panel during the morning and a veteran faculty panel during lunch. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided. College presidents, vice presidents, and board members are invited to join faculty for lunch.

The welcome event is followed by our New Faculty Reception – an opportunity for new faculty and their guests to informally meet and mingle with the chancellor, college and district administrators, academic senate and faculty union leaders, and board members.

The event is held in an upscale venue with delicious appetizers, non-alcoholic drinks, and a hosted wine and beer bar. Dress is business casual.

Invitations are extended to new tenure-track faculty, academic senate and LRCFT presidents/executive director, board members, district office and college executives, and Human Resources staff.
